Is there a dosage limit on statin? I"ve been taking it for sometime to lower my LDL,so far it"s working.

Before ldl= 168
After ldl= 98
Total Hdl=44

The dosage limit depends on the statin. For example, the "standard" dosage of Zocor is 20mg, while the "standard" dosage for Lipitor is 10mg.

Your HDL should stay over 40. 44 is not bad, considering you take statins (they are equal opportunity cholesterol nukers!!). My HDL has dropped into the low 30s (my LDL was 75), so I take Niaspan, eat walnuts, and use only olive oil when I need it to cook.

Comment to Ridge50. Chelation is a fraud!!!! I'm not kidding. You wanna die, that's your problem. I'm eight years of new life after a heart attack thanks partly to statins. Read some real facts... Report It

Your HDL is terribly low.. you might want to consult your doctor!!

check this site.

Additional facts:
Some of my friends taking statin noticed that they gets allergies and rashes in their skin. They stop now taking the drugs.

There SHOULD be a limit on the use of statin drugs: ZERO. These drugs were not created to address a problem. The market was created to sell these poisonous drugs.
I know this will be difficult to swallow, but people with high cholesterol live longer than people with low cholesterol. Cholesterol is good for you and we would all die without it. Every cell in our bodies is protected by cholesterol, but we have been programmed to believe that cholesterol is the enemy. All that statin drugs, like Lipitor, do is strip away our cholesterol and, in effect, dissolve us, slowly. The horror stories are epidemic. I was one of the lucky ones, in that I only took statins for 3 months before I started developing the symptoms; weakness, fatigue, difficulty swallowing, memory loss, blurred vision, etc.. I got off of them immediately and the symptoms began to fade in a few days. I replaced them with "oral chelation", which is all natural and no side effects. However, thanks to statins, I now have to look forward to bouts of gout periodically, which is something you want to avoid, because it is crippling.
Understand this: cholesterol...good or bad...does not cause heart disease. Bad oils, fats, stress and processed sugar do cause heart disease. Avoid processed sugar, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils at all costs. Do a search on these things, which are, by definition, poisons.

Don't trust me on this. Go to the link provided and read everything that you would ever need to know about cholesterol, statins and diseases. If you are taking statins...stop. It's a scam.

You can thank me later.

PSST...Whoever gave this info a "thumbs down" needs to check the facts...starting with the link that I provided. This info saved my life...
