My LDL is 132, HDL is 35 and total choleshtol is 190 do i have chance of stroke or heart attack? with your hdl being on the low side and your ldl high yes you have a chance to have a stroke Some folks think that this chlorestrerol stuff is to sell more drugs It depends on a lot of things, age, family history, other medical problems. Have a good talk with your doctor. dont worry, be happy, be calm, be active nothing will happen to you with the level of your HDL at 35, i'm guessing that you are a big fan of fatty, oily foods and you love couch potatoing. if one or both of your parents have hypertension, your blood pressure is higher than 120/80 mmHG, you smoke, drink a lot of alcoholic beverages, it's a possibility to get a heart attack or a stroke. these cholesterols stick to the walls of the blood vessels increasing the pressure of the blood against the walls. with the increased pressure there is a possbility that these calcified cholesterols become dislodged, leaving a scar on the artery walls making it narrower and easier for cholesterols to lodge. as for the dislodged cholesterols, these are called fat emboli (sing. embolus) they travel along the blood vessels until they become lodged in the smaller blood vessels. it can be in the deep vein in your calf, arteriesleading to the brain which causes stroke, or those leading to the heart which causes a heart attack. Whether u have any chance or not or already have an attack , drink mixtures of rose water equally mixed with 'arqe baadiaan'(distilled water of aniseed or fennel) 10 ml thrice a day and consume 25 mg of 'Jawahar Mohra' only once a day. U will never face any heart problem. The latter is useful for debility too if taken 200 mg at once for the weakest possible person. This is a famous unani formula. The above mentioned dose for heart will surely clear even if 3 out of 4 valves r closed by cholestrol. Alternatively ,consume chutney of black basil leaves in very small amount daily. No heart problem will ever come. Always keep a tablet of aspirin with u. If any attack comes to anybody , the first thing should be done is to give the affected person the dose of one aspirin before doing anything else. Jawaar Mohra users can consume oily and non-veg food in any desired amount fearlessly but it is not advisable at all. NOT ON THESE PARAMETERS BUT THERE ARE OTHER RISK FACTORS. your lipid levels are surely risk factors for stroke and heart attack but if you eat judiciously , exercise , watch your weght , do not smoke you will never be at risk of a stroke or heart attack. |
