On 10mg of lipitor with an ldl of 35. Are there side effects of too low ldl.?

your body needs cholesterol to function if you have a ldl of 35 you would die shortly, are you sure you don't mean hdl

There are no side effects of a low LDL. The most aggressive goal currently recommended by the National Cholesterol Education Program NCEP is an LDL <70. If your cholesterol is also very low ie <140 your triglycerides are <150 and your HDL is >60 then you would have an excellent lipid profile. You should ask your doctor to review your risk factors and treatment goals with you if you haven't already.

I treat patients with lipitor all the time. I've never seen a patient with an ldl of 35. That doesn't mean it isn't possible, just very unusual. If your ldl is that low you probably don't need 10 mg of lipitor, 5mg would do just fine.

There aren't any known dangers to a very low ldl.
