Cholesterol 192 LDL and 30 HDL.. total cholesterol 242? |
My doctor is goin to put me on meds for this, but thing is i have acid reflux to top it off. do cholesterol drugs effects more acid to produce? Im 264 pounds 35 yrs old male. how much excersise and what is the best diet to reduce my cholestrol and also help with my acid reflux? im a mess :( thanks, rob. thing is am already in a gym. actually i was 278 like 3 months ago but i stopped because of my acid reflux..i lost 14 pounds but not enough Keeping in mind that I'm no doctor, and therefore NOT an expert, I would suggest trying to lose weight by using the only real diet. Just eat less. Eat only the suggested serving of whatever you eat.Don't get second helpings, and drink a full glass of water before eating, to curb your appetite.Eat slowly to allow your body to register the fact that you are full.Eat more green vegetables than any thing and try to eat fermented dairy products like yogurt or low fat butter milk which have an alkalizing affect on your body.Don't eat creamy dressings, and limit your dairy products to low fat or no fat,and lower you meat intake. These things will increase your body's acidity. You need to get things together. However if you start too drastic a lifestyle change you will probably quit. Start working out. Walking treadmills, lifting some weights. Go to your local YMCA or city center that has fitness facilities. This might be a great way to avoid some of the gyms that just want to sign you up. Reflulx is probably due to your diet. I wish you luck. The lifestyle changes will take some time but if you work at this every day you will see some changes in 12-16 weeks. Your a walking heart attack man, diet and excercise under a doctors care, and stick to it, otherwise you aint going to see your kids grow up. Go with a very low fat diet, lots of fruit and veggies, and lots of long moderate paced aerobic exercise, build up to an hour or more daily. |
