Why too much ldl or too little hdl are all bad?

http://www.keep-cholesterol-control.com/

LDL brings cholesterol from the liver to the rest of the body (bad if too much LDL -- deposits in blood vessels leading to plaques and blockage, deadly if in the heart),

while HDL brings cholesterol from the body to the liver (good if higher -- less plaque formation).

go away

Low Density Lipoprotein (or LDL) cholesterol, is called the bad cholesterol, because it causes the build up and plaque inside blood levels. Remember that this is the cholesterol to lower.

HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is the good cholesterol, because it actually removes the cholesterol from blood vessels鈥?walls. This is the one to increase by as much as you can.

Remember that LDL is "lousy" for you and you want it to be low, and HDL is the "happy" kind and you want it to be high. Silly, I know, but most people can remember it that way.
