Is LASIK for me with my condition?

I know i should ask a doctor but i'm trying to just get a sense whether my condition is too bad for lasik based on any of your experiences. I have astigmatism...i have a -2 in my left which means it is a good candidate for lasik but my right eye has severe astigmatism with -5...so i was wondering if its possible to still get LASIK or maybe just special contact lenses

I hate wearing glasses and im a risk taker.just want opinions THANKS!

I am nearsighted, and wear contacts (and also reading glasses for the last 5 years), I also have astigmatism, but have been told within the past couple of years that I am a candidate for Lasik. As far as contact lenses go, I use the Boston gas permeable contact lenses, and have used them for at least 25+ years.

There's an updated type of LASIK that makes it possible for someone with a more severe astigmatism to be a candidate for LASIK.

Lasik are great. thanks to lasik that i dont need my spect or contacts. No more dryness with wearing of contacts. u can use the custom lasik that can cater to astim. even they cannot remove all but can at least help u to reduce the using of spects.

Consultations are free for LASIK. I would go ask because it is amazing what they can do. They also look at more than astigmitism and that too. They have to make sure you have the right thickness in your cornea and stuff too. Going to a free consultation would be a great idea being they look at more than just your prescription.

I would get a good consultation under my belt from a notable Ophthalmologist before spending too much time getting opinions from the internet.

Posted below is a tremendous resource for learning about LASIK as well as the name of a notable Ophthalmologist in Colorado who also has a website which can be visited full of resources related to lasik surgery.
