Lasik , some questions?

well im only 15 and my eye sight is perty bad already. i had heard that the younger you do lasik the more chance its gonna be permanent, because it heals better and when your old it might go back to its original degree. so any suggestions from people whove done this? and any other info on lasik can will be appreciated

The first thing you are too young to have LASIK performed. Most physicians will only perform LASIK if you are 21 years or older there are a few that believe 18 year and older. The reason for this is your eye is still growing and your refraction may not be stable. You must have a stable refraction of -/+ 0.50D in a one year time period to be a suitable candidate.

LASIK in general is a very safe with very little regression. What you are referring to when you get older is not a reversal of the LASIK procedure but your eyes will develop another condition call Presbyopia where you will need reading glasses in the future.

well I am legally blind and I would not risk the little bit of sight I have, not that I am a candidate for it. And yes it is never permanent from what I have heard.

I had lasik and love it. There is always the chance that your eyes will change, so having it done earlier is not true. If your eyesight is still changing, you want to wait until it stops. Do lots of research for yourself before you have it done. Learn about the advantages of using a more expensive laser vs. the "$299/ eye" deal. I spent $1000 per eye and would do it again if I had to. My vision went from 20/200 to 20/13. Just do your research, thats my best advice. And don't rush into it.
