Allegretto Wavelight Lasik Eye-Q Machine?

Has anyone heard anything bad about this lasik machine or had lasik surgery with it? I am having surgery with this machine in two days and would like to know how it performs.

I am very apprehensive about the surgery but it is the only way I can become a Police Officer.

I have read that because of its speed (400hz - the fastest laser available) that it virtually eliminates the haloes and night time glare that older slower machines cause.

I had the allegretto laser for my surgery. I did a lot of research and feel that it is the best. I also had intralase for the flap creation. The microkeratome method of creating the flap is actually the cause of most problems that go with lasik, so intralase has eliminated most of them. My night vision is indeed better than it was before I had the surgery. It is amazing!!

I also had LASIK with this machine and my results were great. I think it depends a lot on your surgeon and on your eyes. Oddly, my surgeon prefers the microkeratome for creating the flap---I think this also varies with surgeon. I recommend not going to a discount place and going to someone with lots of experience. My guy actually did surgery on a famous athelete. Good luck. And even if your results aren't perfect the first time, your doctor can probably fix it with a second procedure.

I had surgery with this machine two weeks ago. Worked out great for me. Went from a -6.00 to seeing 20/20. Best decision I ever made was to get the surgery.

The lab I went to had the interlace for cutting the flap and the allegretto for fixing. During the fixing it was kind of weird. Only took about 30 seconds per eye but it looked like lighting bolts coming down into your eye. I found it very interesting.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
