Is the Lasik procedure painful? |
I'm getting the Lasik surgery for my eyes next month and I know how the procedure works. I've pretty much heard that it does not really hurt but when they cut and make the "flap", people can actually feel something. Has anyone who has had the Lasik give me some comments on whether or not it's painful? I had it and I did not feel anything at all. I was however, rather sensitive to the medication they gave me to relax and I was pretty dazed afterwards. The procedure did not hurt in the slightest and it was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. I recommend it completely. My supervisor had it done and said they give you sedatives so you don't feel anything. Afterwards, your eyes may feel a little irritated but the discomfort goes away after a day. He said it was a really great experience. They numb the eye so it shouldn't be...you might have some irritation post opp but nothing that's going to cause a lot of pain I had the lasik surgery done in Nov2006 . It hurted for the first night, felt like something in your eyes. If U follow the Dr.'s orders by the next day U will be find. Also when they do it U only feel a lite pain for about a half a second .It was the best thing I ever did for myself. Good luck It is relatively painless. Most common complaint is itchyness for a couple days after. |
