Once you have lasik will you ever need it again?

the basic lasik where I am at costs 995 per eye and icludes a one year later lasik "tune-up" if necessary. the premium package is 2000 per eye but has lifetime lasik procedures. Is that necessary???

Not to scare you but I had a bad experience with that surgery . . my doc accidentally got too close to my retina and burnt it causing me to lose my Central vision. A blind spot is now what I live with and it is about the size of a softball at arms length.

Good Luck to you in what ever you decide.

Why

yes.

It depends on the individual's eyes. A friend of mine got it done and all is well. Someone else I know who had it done has great vision as well except she has poor night vision and needs to wear her glasses at night to see clearly (especially while driving)!

My optometrist told me that you should wait till your eyes are a steady number for at least a full year before you get it done (in most cases). Some people's eye numbers are costantly changing and these are some of the people that may need follow up treatment if they get lasik. Again, it varies from person to person.

Hope this helps. : )

Sorry to say,but before go to surgery why you dont look for some information in google about lasik disasters?.
I know people that after surgery had problems with vision, after years.
But the doctor always want to sell the surgery.
Good luck honey.

some people need it again, yes. its called an "enhancement".

AND you should know that everyone...yes E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E will eventually need reading glasses at around age 40-45. so while lasik is "permanent" in that you will no longer be NEARSIGHTED...it DOES NOT "permanently" take you out of glasses. you will eventually need reading glasses. if you are over 45 right now, you will instantly need reading glasses after lasik, even if you dont need reading glasses right now...

The changes made by Lasik are permament, but the eye will continue to change after surgery just as it would have changed without surgery.

Famed golfer Tiger Woods had laser eye surgery about 7 years ago and recently found that his vision had changed enough he went back for more. A secondary surgery is often called and enhancement.
