Fused Vertebrae?

Congetinal Kyphosis?
Do you suffer from (or do you know anyone who suffers from) a fused vertebrae from birth? Is it painful? Did you/they have surgery? What other options did you find? My 1 year old son is facing surgery for this condition and we would like to avoid surgery if possible. Thanks so much.

I am so sorry for your family. It's scary anytime anyone has to have surgery, especially when it's a young child.
I do not know of anyone whose had a fused vertebrae at birth , but have had it later in life and have had the surgery.

The two people I know of had very good outcomes. Have you had a second opinion? It's important to have a good understanding of what can a can't be done with surgery, physical therapy or holistically. See if you can get a few opinions before surgery, especially, if your son is not in pain and is not suffering right now. Good luck and God Bless! I'll be praying for you all!
