How can I get help for my mentally and physically challenged son? |
He has always been mentally challenged but as far as physically challenced it got worse about a year ago. he has scoliosis, and kyphosis. The doctors tried to correct it but only made it worse by causing him a weak leg and even more pain. I can't sue because I let a non-profit organization do the surgery. He's now 17 and very self affected by his problems. Check the resources at your nearest MHMR Center. You might call Red Cross for more resources... as i am the Christian. if there is no where to help your son, i suggest that you tried to go to near by church to pray. it might be seen simple but i think you will try everything that can hill your son, so why not try you won't loss anything by doing it. remember my word trust to the god course only HIM can help your son. Have you talked with a Lawyer? For his mental health, take him to a psycologist or psychiatrist for counceling on a weekly basis. Apply for social security disability for him. Mental health also has programs for the disabled that he may even enjoy because there will be others there with him with problems. Love him, encourage him, reassure him. Prayer with belief works wonders. What about the Shriner's Hospital and organization? Also call your County Mental Health Department. They can find you local referrals for agencies that can help you. Also, you need some help emotionally and some repite care so you get some time to yourself once in a while. Good luck Non-profit or not you can sue for mal-practice. Just because you didnt put money into the surgery doesnt give them the right to screw it up. Check with your local attorneys...some will even do a consult for free. Good luck and trust me there are resources out there to help your son. Send me a message if you want. |
