Total knee replacement at i.u hopsital?


i am having total knee replacement at indiana university hospital. they are inserting a rod in my leg .i would like more informatiom

Please talk to your doctor. You should not be afraid to ask your doctor questions, they are just people. You deserve to have ALL of your concerns addressed and any good doctor will be happy to give you any information about your specific procedure and the implant he/she has selected for you.
In general terms, a portion of the implant is a rod like structure that is inserted into the medulary canal of the femur and the tibia this adds strength and stability. There are a variety of different implants, your doctor can show you a picture of the specific one that will be used for you. PLEASE DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK!! Your doctor is not a mind reader and can't guess what information you want or need.

The opps manager ware I used to work, had it done, he experenced a lot of infections, his knees locked up a lot, causing him to fall back wards.
A reduction in body weight my do the trick, so you won't kneed the surgery.
