What's the ballpark cost of knee replacement surgery? I'm asking for my mother. This would be in New York |
She has no knee left at all and would need a replacement. The price of knee joint replacement surgery is very low in India as compared to USA, UK and Canada. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. I knew he'd be here! Again, this is a waste for most people who undergo TKR as most are covered under Medicare or their insurance...you'd pay much less staying in the US and paying your co-pays and deductibles (not to mention saving the cost of airfare)...if you have no ins, however, go to India. Report It What is the age of your mother? This is generally covered under Medicare. She would be required to pay her hospital deductible...which last time I checked was $712. After that, her hospitalization is a predetermined rate by medicare and she is not responsible for charges above and beyond what is standard for her condition. She will be responsible for separate anethesiology charges and other consultations, but generally Medicare and the supplement will pick it up. Therapy as an outpatient is covered at 80% under Medicare part B...but the rest is usually picked up by the supplement. |
