Sports injuries knee?


I need some help with some homework. Sports Medicine...and if you know the answer please tell me how you know it is right so I can get some reliable answers...

Identify those etiological factors that may predispose an athlete to abnormal tracking of the patella.

Females are at a greater risk for abnormal tracking of the patella and other knee injuries and problems. This is due to the shape of womens hips and causing the knees to be more inwardly facing, this can lead to injuries occuring more rapidly and being more serious then in males...

It's called the "Q Angle" Strengthening the quad muscle in the last 30 degrees of extension should help pull the patella straight up as opposed to tracking laterally. Also stretching the Ilieotibial Band helps. Report It
