I fell on my knee 2 weeks ago & it still hurts but looks fine. How long do knee injuries usually take to heal?

When you fell, did you hear any type of "pop" or "snap"? I know that when people tear an ACL/MCL/PCL/LCL, these sounds are often heard. It is a quick sharp pain that only lasts for a few seconds because when the ligament is torn, it severs off all nerve endings. Without corrective knee surgery, the pain can come and go due to the knee giving out because the stability isnt there anymore.

In what way did you hurt your knee? Hyperextend it, or just fell right on the patella?
If it didn't swell up, you may want to have a doctor take an MRI of it. Swelling is usually a sign of a sprain.

If it is a sprain, you may want to consider the R.I.C.E treatment:
R: Rest- stay off of the knee as much as possible, aviod any harsh physical activity
I: Ice- ice the area several times a day, but not more then 15 mins. each time
C: Compression- wrap the knee to reduce the swelling...icy hot can work here too
E: Elevate- keep the knee elevated close to the level of the heart

Good Luck hun
