I don't know how to successfully deal with a knee injury. help!?

I'm a college sophomore dude, and i hurt my knee a few days ago. I don't know exactly what happened yet because i haven't seen the doctor yet. I get to see him two days later. Anyway, I am on crutches and an immobilizer is wrapped around my knee. Right now my life is a complete mess. When I move from one place to another I need my school's van for handicapped ppl. Going to classes is a challenge. I don't get to socialize as much as I used to. I can't concentrate well. I can't do any exercises. I spend most of my time in my room. My room's hella messy. It takes me 30 minutes to take a shower. It's pretty much like a death sentence. I've had injuries many times, but my knee injury is the one that's really killing me. I don't think i can live like this for weeks. My social life is basically nonexistent but I don't want my injury to affect my grades at least. I get so easily distracted because my knee is bothering. I don't know how to deal with this situation successfully...

ask the athletic director at your school the name of a good doctor that specializes in sports injuries to get a correct diagnosis and then go forward. I have had many knee injuries, ski trip in spring ice and slush, losing a ski when the binding let go, jumping a creek when my left foot was under a branch, I pushed my knee cap up on my thigh. See a sports doc, and since the injury is not new use heat packs or get some of those wrap around heat packs that work for 8 hours, I used those on my hand when it was broken, if it quits heating you can rub it and it will reactivate. Keep the leg elevated if it is swollen above the knee. Hope this helps some.

Well first of all, you need to find out what type of injury it is, a sprain, fracture or a break. Then I can give you some better advice. Just try to walk on it if you can. Keep the blood flowing to that area. Also try some hot and cold packs.

get it checked out n fixed.
