Knee injury, I was hit on the lateral side of my knee and now a week later it is still very sore? |
While playing in a rugby match (over a week ago) I was hit on the lateral side of my left knee and heard a loud pop. I can walk on it fine, but when I am in bed laying on my side it aggravates the medial side of my knee when I lift my leg. I am wondering if maybe someone could give me some insight as to what I should do. I can't really afford to see a specialist and my health insurance deductible is outrageous so I don't think I could afford surgery either. I used RICE for 4 days after the injury even while at work, but last night I went to roll over and woke up in so... SO much pain. And now sitting at my desk at work it hurts. Can anyone help? Sorry to say it, but you need to go to a Dr. With the popping and the impact, it sounds like an ACL injury or tear. General rule of thumb is if it pops, you need to get it looked at because it is most likely an injury to a ligament or joint. You have to get that fixed by a Dr. Eventually, it will bother you when you walk too. I let mine go a year, and suffered for it later. Knee injury is very bad, especially for people who are physically involved in any sports or other activities. I have a suggestions. |
