Knee injury, what kind, how bad?

I'm 6'4, 330lbs, 31y/o. The only thing I can compare it to is a hairline fracture in my elbow. the joint works fine, I can bend my knee normaly without pain, but my leg muscles can't do the work, if they do, the pain begins before the leg even moves. this injury occured in the water so I couldn't have heard a pop if there was one, I was playing tarzan with some friends, stupid I know, and landed with my knee strait. there isn't much swelling, but I can not stand on my knee or have my knee do anything without pain. I can put pressure (touch) on any part of my knee without pain. Sitting here on a lazy boy, it's fine. Basically, I can not use the muscles in my leg to bend or support my knee. I'm going to the clinic on monday, this occured around noon on saturday. I don't have insurance and I'll also need to know what to expect as a bill for a varitey of situations. I have never been to the point where I can not manover by myself and this sucks, how do people live like this?

You are heavy and that horsing around may have damaged your knee ligaments. Which one will be determined best by MRI and treatment will follow. You probably are in for some heavy expenses. Good luck!

WOW!!! good luck tomarrow at the clinic....
back in June I was playing beach volleyball goofing off and i injured my knee. I went to the ER and they said it was nothing to ice my knee and limit weightbearing for the next 72 hours then to make an appointment with my PCP. well the next morning wheni woke up i couldn't bear any weight on my knee and it felt as though it was going to give out. so i went to the injury center and they put me in am immobilizer and on crutches with no weight bearing for 48 hrs and then limited there after. ten days later i was sent for an MRI which showed a tear in my MCL i was to continue with the immobolizer until the 24 of july when i was finally sent to an orthopedist. He is now doing PT in hopes of not having to do surgery. Its been 7 weeks and my knee still doesnt feel right, although it is starting to feel a bit better.

Good Luck....

I don't know, it could be a bunch of things. take it easy and hopefully you get everything sorted out
