Knee injury healing time...?

ok so i injured my left knee back in June. had the MRI it showed a minor tear of the MCL. i was immobolized for five weeks post injury and have been doing therapy for the last six weeks. my question is if it truly was only a MINOR tear then why such the long immobolization period, and why am i still having pain when ever i bend my knee too far(stairs, stooping at work).

I guess i want to know why healing is taking so long if it was a "minor" injury. I am very active(competitive cheerleading) and young(23). Could there be something that the doc is missing? i've already been seen by two docs(the doc at the urgent care center and the orthopedist). Is this normal for a "minor" tear?

Therapy is going great and i have almost full flexion but still have pain at the end point.

i just got a hinge brace that i have to wear for work and cheerleading. and I'm not cleared to do much of anything at cheerleading right now(no stunting, jumping, or tumbling).
I go back to the Orthopedist on the 25th

its possible that the dr missed something, MRIs do not always show menisci tears. and Even though the MCL injury you have is"minor" the dr has your knee in a brace like that to protect it from tearing it even more. It takes a good 6 to 8 weeks for a minor tear to FULLY heal. Did you do anything to aggervate it? I almost did my MCL in Yesterday, i was playing football with my friends yesterday and I slipped in such a wacky way. also when you see yuour ORthopedic knee dr, Ask him about Why you are still having pain and why you are immobilized for a 5 weeks. He will be able to explain better to you,

it worse then you think...
i did the same thing and i was out for the whole season of football. Now i have problems with it, i cant run as fast, pain everytime i run

try wearing a knee brace.

Well tears take longer to heal especially if they are so small that they can't preform surgery, I once dislocated my knee cap while snowboarding that took 3 months to heal not to mention a lot of therapy. Now it's been about a year later and I still have trouble with it. When it's cold it hurts a lot, and I always have the fear that it might give out. So basically knee injuries are very tricky you mostly will be able to do cheerleading again but I would be careful

pls try using acv (apple cider vinegar)
for myself, after i started drinking ACV, (and also use externally from head to toe) my joint pain gone, my skin more smoother and glowing, my allergic improve, i take a full advantage of using ACV and gaining my health back with this amazing product...
i do not know whether it helps for you or not, but is the cheapest and effective way to cure a lot of sickness and decease, NO harm of trying it, it's chemical free, and pls buy a book to read how this ACV works wonder from inside and out, you don't have to believe me, pls go online and find some answer, just search ACV....
if this will work for you, pls tell to your family and friends too...
i would really want to share this with everyone .
