Do I have a serious knee injury? |
I was playing Volleyball two days ago and went up to block a spike and the guy that was spiking went under the net and hit the outside of my right leg. My knee bent inward and I can tell that when I walk on it it feels like something is separating on the inside of my knee. The pain has gone from a 8/10 to 4/10 and is getting better but I still having trouble walking. I have been icing it and it is not swollen and is not bruised. I can bend and move it with little to no pain, it is only painful when my foot is pushed outward ( with pressure going from the inside of my foot, pushing outward ). I was planning on going to the doctor if the pain stayed the same but it is getting better. I dont want to not go to the dr and then not be able to walk! Do I have a serious knee injury or is it something else, minor?? HELP!! You should go see a knee doctor. It sounds like you may have torn a ligament which would give you the odd feeling of your knee seperating on the inside. With a torn ligament it is very bad to keep playing volleyball cause you can injure you knee even more. The knee doctor if you have a torn ligament will tell you that either you can have surgery or physical therapy to help strengthen the knee to be able to return to your sport. I myself had an ACL tear and it was the worst one my doctor had ever seen. Insist upon an MRI, even if the doctor says nothing shows on the x-ray. You can make your doctor give you an MRI. I had to when my ACL was torn. What you describe sounds exactly what my knee felt like when I tore my ACL in my knee. The ACL is a ligament inside of the knee that holds your knee together on the inside. The pain did go away just like yours but there was still the awkward feeling of seperation in my knee. It's an easy surgery too, and it takes about three to six months to recover from. But your knee doctor will tell you this. I hope this helps you out. Good luck. yes go to docs asap jus cos seem better ain necesarily case theyll probsay a n e better to be safe than sorry.if not right and by walkin around etc could be caiusin more damage You could have ligament damage. Go see a sports doctor. I tore my ACL a long time ago. This isn't anything to sit around and think about. Get an MRI on it. It could be either Minor or serious there is really no way to diagnose without tests. Surely not anything to fool around with. Don You need a test first It depence on your body stucture. I Prayed to God about my knee pain, Yes It could be an ACL or MCL along with Mensicus tears. Please GO to the KNee Dr asap and get ur nkee checked. |
