I have a knee injury! Help!? |
I have a slight knee injury and I'm afraid training more would worsen the injury. I have two months to train for 1600 meters. I have to heal this thing as fast as possible. Although I can walk and jog slowly, sprinting is painful, as well as squatting. I also feel some "popping" at the joint when I sit down and extend my leg. Help! If you want to avoid surgery you are going to have to cancel the run. It sounds like you injured the knee, and didn't allow proper time to heal. You really need to get a set of crutches and stay off it for six weeks. No need to worry. There will be other races, runs, and marathons. Please consult with your doctor. This isn't about 1 race. This decision might effect the 30 runs after this race, and as an athlete, you must accept that injuries are part of the reality of training and competition. Report It see doctor, this is always the first thing to do. or quit the race. |
