What should i do if my knee therapy is making my knee hurt worse? |
I have patellar tracking disorder and the leg lifts have become painful. I am wondering if I am overdoing the exercises or if I am doing them wrong possibly. Any info on knee therapy for this would be of great help, thanks! while I do not have your disorder, I have RA and have to go to rehab every week plus I have to have my knees and shoulder replaced so "I feel your pain" in therapy. First, I sure would discuss with your therapist what you are feeling. It is possible to over do it. If you are in the beginning segment of your knee therapy, some soreness would be normal but you MUST tell your therapist and if they don't listen to you, I would consult with your Physican. The reason I am saying talk to your doctor is that I have known someone whose therapist did more harm than good on his shoulder after he had shoulder surgery. Most therapists are wonderful however, but they should be listening to your concerns of pain and if they don't, remember this is YOUR body and YOU have the right to stop the exercises that are hurting you until you can get another evaluation. Hope your knee feels better soon. It's really a pain, isn't it? |
