Klinefelter syndrome?

I am 34 years of age and recently A genetics has asked me if I have ever been treated for klinefelter? When I asked what he meant by treatment he explained to me that people who have klinefelter syndrome must take hormones shots so their bones don't detiriate. Ever heard of such thing? Should I take the shots? I am not a big fan of convention medicine none the less hormone shots.

Klinefelter's is a disease where people have a diminished brain capacity, ***** ****, small testes and you would be sterile. Chances are, if you had Klinefelter's you would know it.

Regards,

Brandon

p.s. Here's a link to read up on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klinefelter...

I googled your syndrome and came up with www.medlinePlus.com, a medical dictionary. It states that Klinefelter syndrom is the presence of an extra x-chomoesome. Nothing there gave any indication that it causes your bones to detiriate. I would suggest you get a second opinion before starting any shots. Good luck!

Klinefelter's Syndrome

Also called: XXY male
Klinefelter's syndrome is a condition that occurs in men who have an extra X chromosome in most of their cells. The syndrome can affect different stages of physical, language and social development. The most common symptom is infertility. Because they often don't make as much of the male hormone testosterone as other boys, teenagers with Klinefelter's syndrome may have less facial and body hair and may be less muscular than other boys. They may have trouble using language to express themselves. They may be shy and have trouble fitting in.

It is important to start treatment as early as possible. With treatment, most boys grow up to have normal sex lives, successful careers and normal social relationships. Treatments include:

- Educational services
- Physical, speech and occupational therapy
- Medical treatments including testosterone replacement .

Treatment of Klinefelter's syndrome should address 3 major facets of the disease: hypogonadism, gynecomastia, and psychosocial problems.
Androgen therapy

Androgen therapy is the most important aspect of treatment. Testosterone replacement should begin at puberty, around age 12 years, and the dose should increase until it is sufficient to maintain age-appropriate serum concentrations of testosterone, estradiol, FSH ( Follicle Stimulating Hormon), and LH ( Luteinizing Hormon ).
Androgen therapy is used to correct androgen deficiency, to provide appropriate virilization, and to improve psychosocial status. Regular testosterone injections can promote strength and facial hair growth; build a more muscular body type; increase sexual desire; enlarge the testes; improve mood, self-image, and behavior; and protect against precocious osteoporosis.

So it is wiser to follow your doctor advice!
Hope that may help you!
Good luck!
