Kidney stones!!!!!?

i went to the ER night before last with sever pain in back and was told that i had kidney stones and that i should go home and take pain meds and drink lots of fluids and it would pass. well i have done as i was told but i still have not passed the stone and the pain is almost unbearable, i would like to know if there is any home treatment that i can use or something that will help with the pain. Please help me, by the way the er doctor told me to see my doctor on monday but this is just saturday and i don't know if i can keep dealing with this pain, what should i do?

I was told the same until the ppain was that unbareable I went to out patients, and they ended up admitting me,as the tablets just wasnt disolving it quick enough with the pain i had to put up with,so if you are close to a hospital go in to emergencies,they may admite you,and have to give you a stronger drug like (pethadene) to settle pain you are going through.I feel for you as the pain is the worst pain i have ever felt,and I have had kids.Goodluck

Did they do an ultrasound to see how big the stones are? If not they should have, because if they are too big they will not pass on their own. My husband had them and it took him a good week or so to pass them, and yes it was bad. If they didn't do the ultrasound then go back and insist on one. If they did do one and they said the stones are small enough to pass, all you can really do is what you already are, sorry, I know it sucks, my husband actually threw up from the pain. If they are too big the Doctor will use this machine to break them up (it doesn't hurt, it's a non-invasive procedure) or in some cases they will do surgery. Good Luck!

Go back to the ER and get them to give you a shot of morphine or some other pain killer. Not all stones pass quickly and it is inhumane to have you suffer. Lasers are used to remove them nowadays, and I'm sorry that I don't know of a naturopathic treatment.

Go back to the ER now. First there is no reason for you to suffer, and it is well documented that the pain from passing a kidney stone can be unbearable...Tell him the pills are not working, and that you would like to be admitted.....They will put you on IV fluids at a high rate to flush the stone out.....They will also be able to give you Morphine for the pain at regular intervals...They will put this little screen in a pan in your toilet so they can check what you are passing....The doctor needs to do some additional studies to make sure you can pass the stone otherwise all of this will just put you in more pain than is needed....If the stone is too large to pass, they will perform what is called lithotrypsy, (spelled wrong) where they use sound waves to break up the stone so it can be passed....Please do as I say, you will suffer a lot this weekend if you don't......Hope this guides you......
