Kidney stones......? |
my mom has kidney stones and she said they are verry painful.....what causes them, what do i do to prevent them......she does go to the DR.... she is getting help.... Years ago the opinion was that kidney stones were caused by excess calcium in the body. Then the thinking changed to believe that it is due to a lack of calcium, resulting in the body trying to hold on to as much as it can. I have only had them once and it was during a time when I was less mindful of my diet than usual and not getting my usual amount of calcium. My solution since that time has been to make sure I get enough calcium and any time I feel the tiniest twinge of discomfort that makes me think I may be getting another stone, I drink as much cranberry juice as I possibly can. Never have had another one and that was 20 years ago. drink lots of water...its when u dont have enough water in ur system and u need the water to filter or clean out your kidneys and they start to form little peblets a calcium buildup in the body usually from being out in the sun too much or sweating can make you loose calciumn and that is the only way i kno that u can get one They are produced in the kidneys and come from the ingestion of to much calcium and other similar type foods as well as being inherited.Very painful indeed. Sometimes a person must go to the hospital for help and get a cure, which is a laser like device that explodes the stones and makes them passable through the urinary system. I just had a kidney stone a year ago. I was 22. The doctor told me it was because I wasn't drinking enough water. It was true. I forgot to drink water during the day and I consumed a lot of foods with salt and sugar which caused my kidney stone. All I can tell you from my experience is drink a lot of clear fluids, especially water. IT DOES HURT! I can help ya if you want to get rid of bladder stones |
