Men screaming from kidney stones coming out?

when my bf had a kidney stone attack, he had called me to take him to the ER. he was w/ his 7 yr old son & he was laying on a picnic table in horrible pain. After they diagnosed him w/ 2 stones. they gave him a hospial room, I spent the time waiting w/ his son who was wondering what was wrong with his dad. the room had a private bathroom to it & when the nurse brought him a strainer to pee in, he said this is the worst part. He peed twice within an hour, but nothing. THe 3rd time I peed, he passed it and when he was in the bathroom passing it, he kept screaming, not LOUD, but enough where people down the hall could hear. I heard someone ask a nurse what was going on & she said, "he must have passed his kidney stone!" have any other men screamed or anything when the stone has exited out thier penis? I heard it can be pain free or very painful? 2 days later when he passed the 2nd stone, which was much bigger, it sounded like he was dying in the bathroom & was actually screaming loud!

Yeah, a friend of mine passed some stones, said it was THE MOST pain he's ever felt in his entire life!

And your question is?

kidney stones are like giving birth, but worse. My husband had the mother of all kidney stones and there was no mistaking how much pain he was in. I'm sure if it weren't for modern medicine, he would have wanted to die.

It's so painful, men in the 1800's use to die from them...

It is just like peeing glass, if you can imagine how much that would hurt....

It is extremely painful, I have known a few men who have had kidney stones, and they have begged the doctors to knock them out if they have had second attacks.

One of my friends husbands referred to it as urinating out chunks of cement mixed with hot sauce. This is a man who served in the military in two wars and works in heavy equipment and machinery for a living.

I was in a hospital recently visiting a friend who was recovering from surgery and heard a man screaming from the opposite wing of the hospital where we were....pretty frightening.

Funny story: My GP was a former urologist who went into general practice. When I had a kidney stone attack, he gave me a prescription for Tylenol II. Then once his nurse called to reschedule an appointment. When I saw him again he explained that he'd had a kidney stone attack himself, for the first time. He said that all those years when he was a urologist treating kidney stone patients, he really had no idea what they were going through until he wound up on the floor himself in excruciating agony! Then he said, "If you ever have another attack, just tell me what you want! Codeine, morphine, you name it!"

Depending on where the stone is and what it's doing, of course, but generally on a scale of 1 - 10, kidney stones are usually regarded as the absolute highest level of pain in medicine.

Now, I'm relatively lucky. My urethra is wide enough that I can usually pass stones out of my bladder with no trouble, unlike others who have them stick along the way, like being stabbed with a knife from the inside, or having their urethras scraped out with steel wool or a branding iron. For me, it's only bad when they lodge up in my ureters (between the kidneys and bladder) and cause an infection.

But if bf is lying on the floor screaming in pain, trust him, he's not being a sissy.

I think kidney stones would be every guys nightmare

when a guy pees a kidney stone,it feels like you are passing a softball.

O U C H

It's supposed to be right up there with labor as a painful event.

The answer is: ask your boyfriend's son how his mother felt as she was giving birth to him. The pain is comparable to childbirth. My best wishes to the boyfriend.
