Kidney stones? what do u have to do to get them??

how do people get kidney stones??? its really scary cuz i heard they have to urinate it out which probably REALLY hurts..how do they form in the kidneys?


also if anyone has any knoledge on creatine..i heard if u dont drink alotta water while taking creatine ull get kidney stones.how does it kidney stones?

There are a variety of causes of kidney stones, and they really do hurt. If they get stuck in the ureter, you could damage the kidney. You'll know when you have a major stone because you will be screaming on the floor.

Creatine the muscle supplement is not the same as creatinine, which is elevated with poor kidney function or ureter blockage. You should always try to drink about 1/2 gallon water daily (not all at once!) to keep your kidneys flushed.

Bottom line: if you are healthy and "normal", you shouldn't have problems with kidney stones.

Kidney stones can be caused by dehydration--not enough water, too much caffeine...so drink lots of WATER (with nothing in it). Lay off of soda, sports drinks, and alcohol.
They are composed of calcium and oxalic acid, so reducing your dairy intake and tomato intake can reduce your chances of getting them.
They are dissolved and/or prevented by acidic urine, so drink lots of cranberry juice diluted with water & eat pickles.
