Could I have a Kidney infections, or Urniary Tract Infection?

I am 5.5wks post-op from Hysterectomy. I have had for 2wks severe pain on my rightside under rib running down to pelvic area. Constant back pain. Hurts to urinate. Sharp pain when having bowel movement or passing gas. I took 15dys of antibiotic prior with no success. I have under gone pelvic and abd altra sound, I am waiting to see doctor on Wed for results. I am to the point I really want to go to emerg, to see if they can do anything for it.
I am looking for advise or suggestions.. I feel worse then I did 3wks after surg.
Lost,pain, and confused

Though its not usual to have severe pain post operatively a month after a hysterectomy, it can happen. Some people just take longer to heal than others. You didn't mention if you were still being given analgesics (ie did you stop pain meds after the three weeks?). Also, do you have a fever?

Next, if you are in severe pain, going to an ER may be a good choice for the following reason: it will first and foremost, immediately give you a second opinion. Any ER doc worth his salt will investigate all the possible diagnoses of abdominal pain, and not just assume that its post op related. Further, they generally have all the equipment to repeat the abdominal and pelvic sono, do XRays and CTs, along with blood and urine analysis; and the best part is, you get the results right then and there. Your doctor may think its not necessary, but look, your peace of mind is. Good luck.
