How Long Does The Pain From Kidney Infections Last? |
See above. My girlfriend's had it for a few days now, and though she's upped on medicine, it still hurts her. She's concerned and may want to go to the doctor AGAIN. If you've had one before (and please don't answer unless you have, or someone else you know DIRECTLY has), about how long until the pain subsides? Unfortunately, I've had kidney infections before. I take it she is on antibiotics? First of all, make sure she is taking all of the antibiotics religiously. How long she will be in pain depends a lot on how severe the infection was. How long has she been on the antibiotics? Does she still have a high fever?? Kidney infections are nasty things, and if she still has a fever and/or pain after more than ~3 days it can't hurt to call the Dr and ask them for their opinion. Once the fever breaks usually things get better, but either way, unfortunately, she is going to feel crappy for awhile. If she is worried she is not getting better it's best to error on the side of caution and give the Doc a call. Hi, |
