Kidney infection? help please???

Hi,
my mum has been feeling very tired and achy for a while! also peeing alot!!
she has been to doc's today and it is a kidney infection!!
however she is extremely tearful and low today and I would like to know if kidney infections will cause her to feel like this as she has got herself a bit down before (mild depression)
time of year and all that i suppose!!
could this just be the infection making her feel like this??
she has antibiotics so hopefully she will be ok soon

xx

ALSO WHAT CAUSES KIDNEY INFECTION??

thanks

Yes, the kidney infection could make her feel that way. Any sickness can make someone feel down. Sometimes antibiotics can also have that effect. Don't worry about it--she'll be all better very soon! That's the miracle of antibiotics.

A lot of different things can cause kidney infections. Most common is bacteria getting into the urethra (the tube from which you pee), and traveling up to your bladder, then up through your ureters (which connect the bladder and the kidneys) to your kidneys. The bacteria gets in their either through sex, or just chance, or through wiping back to front rather than front to back... those kinds of things. They're quite common.

I had a kidney infection and had severe pains in my lower back and abdomen. I couldnt keep warm and lay trembling until i was taken to hospital. She should go to the doctor for a proper examination. Kidney infections are very painful. It shouldnt make her feel depressed though, maybe just this time of year again i think. Get her to the docs, hope she manages to enjoy her Christmas.
