Can recurrent urinary infections cause kidney problems?

can frequent cystitis cause long term damage to your kidneys in women

Yes they can lead to kidney damage. This is why this is among the few conditions that I believe antibiotics should always be used and fairly quickly.

Infection can reflux up from the bladder via the ureters to the kidney. Here it can cause pyelitis or pyelo-nephritis. This can lead to septicaemia. It can also permanently damage and scar the kidney. If it is severe and frequent enough it can result in renal failure.

Yes. Are you being seen by a doctor for these problems? If not, you need to be. Good luck.

Yes, especially if left untreated.

Consult with a doctor, you can have scans done to check your kidneys.

Yes,recurrent infections especially to urinary tract may have detrimental effects to your kidney functions. you must consult a nephrologist, a doctor that specializes to diseases of kidney. Recurrent attacks may give an impression of more serious damage to it.. Well, I hope not .. But its the best to see a doctor to know the underlying cause.

Nurse

yes they can.
Has the Gp done very thorough tests to eliminate what the source of infection is?

I had this for about 5 months in a row and she found that I had ecoli in my bladder. (very common)

The following was suggested by my fathers Dr. for his kidney problems. He never had them again.

Go to a Health food store and get a bottle of Unsweetened Cranberry concentrate. Mix 8 ounces with one gallon of water. Drink 6 ounces before every meal and between meals.

This will purge your kidneys of toxins and should resolve the urinary tract infections. I know we never have them. We continue to drink about 4 ounces each morning.

Another URGENT thing to do is to be certain to drink 6 bottles of water a day (we refill ours from the tap.) None of my family has every had urinary problems ever.

Taking antibiotics for everything makes them ineffective and will contribute to your getting a yeast infection. It kills the healthy bacteria.

Good Luck.

Obviously your body is telling you something. When we keep getting infections our bodies need a cleanse! First if I were you, I would do a 30 day colon cleanse with a gentle probiotic, and then you can have your wish like many people, Free of infections, and tons of energy. Do a colon cleanse one time per year for sure!
