Is this a kidney infection?

It's a bit silly of me to ask this question as I've had a lot of kidney infections in the past so I should know, but this feels a bit different.

Yesterday I started feeling really dizzy, weak and nauseous and during the night I got up to go to the toilet about 10 times - I still don't feel well and I've got a lot of pain in my lower back. With kidney infections in the past it hurt when I went to the toilet (ie stinging) but there's none of that today - just the other symptoms. I'm so busy I have no time to go to the doctor today and it'd be tomorrow at least before I'll make it so was wondering if anyone knows what this could be and if there's anything I could do in the meantime to ease the pain etc?

Take AZO cranberry pills and CYSTEX pills until you can get to the doctor. You need antibiotics fast.

sounds like the start to a kidney infection alright
try taking it easy - you sound like you are under a lot of stress
relax and drink plenty of cranberry juice

Yea sounds like a kidney infection. You still need to go to your doc as, im sure you know can become much more serious (pyelonephritis).

I cant believe you have no time to go to the doctors today, you have to make time, dont mess about with your health. However it does sound like your kidneys so you should be drinking lots of water and take some paracetamol for the pain. See your doc asap, and get well soon x

are you sexually active and on contraception? because i also get allot of kidney infection and when i fell pregnant the first time i felt like that. the lower back pain the frequent toilet use and it not burning when you go. just a thought could be wrong! the other symptoms of kidney infection might still come and then you'll know.

It definitely sounds like the kidney infection I had. The pain, the nausea...I didn't have the stinging either - that comes from lower down, in the bladder.

Could be the start of diabetes as thats how i felt, dizzy weak and nauseas due to your body not being able to break down sugar making you really tired and no matter how much sleep you get you fill the same, constantly needing the toilet, you have to see a GP urgently

NOTHING is more important than your health, go to the Dr's ASAP.

sounds more like your stomach. which can hurt your back just as well as it can your front.. your kidneys are located more in the middle of your back...I have passed several kidney stones...ouch..anyway. did you go at all when you woke up to go to the bathroom??? Sometimes a stone can block the passage of urine into the bladder...and it can cause the symptoms you described also.

does sound like a kidney infection.....but possibly with stones. my daughter had stones removed christmas day 2007 and she was having he same symptoms before we took her to hospital. a stone was lodged in her (tube that connects kidney to bladder) ureter. you need to go to doctor as soon as possible could be the same thing...........good luck
