There are great programs for low income families, talk to your local social worker. In CA we have Medi-Cal which takes care of all aspects of a persons health care.

Trust them

The National Kidney Foundation website is www.kidney.org. Good luck!

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your mum.

The American Kidney Fund is our nation's #1 source of direct financial assistance to kidney patients, and is a leader in providing education to those with and at risk for kidney disease. Their programs address all stages of kidney health, including kidney disease awareness and prevention; community outreach to individuals at high risk for kidney disease; and treatment-related support for those requiring renal dialysis or transplantation

Checkout the website above and contact these people for help.

All the best to you and your family.

sorry for you and your mom; so she does not qualify for medicare/medicaid? probably not SSN either than; either way, it is a several week process to get approved...there is a medicaid hotline toll free to get more info/get process started, she can claim indegence, and with no ins., go through state/county funded hospital..see, there is something called EMTALA...find out about it, ER's (er receiving facilities) cannot turn someone down who is at risk, due to lack of funds...if your mother has renal failure, that is pretty critical without dialysis, proper care, ect...i hope that helps somewhat....good luck!
