Kidney (renal) failure can cause confusion and memory loss - what is the cause and how do you combat it.?

My father is experiencing confusion and memory loss because of kidney failure. He is taking dailysis three times a week.

What causes the confusion/memory loss. How can we combat it. Should we be checking for other causes.

Currently in a foreign country - doctors limited in latest research.

The kidneys are responsible for keeping the blood free of toxins and other waste products. When it is unable to perform this function, toxins begin to build up in the blood which is poisonous to the body.

The blood has so many different important functions. If its quality is compromised, it can affect crucial biological functions and systems, including neurological system (the nerves can become affected).

It is also possible that your father may be affected by some other condition which affects the function of his brain. His doctor should check this.

Vitamin B12 can assist with confusion and memory loss.
