How long does one live after discovering chronic kidney failure?

64 year old male. already has pancretitis, liver disease, gallballder trouble, and renal failure. has been treated medically to try and reverse kidney failure, and now does not wish to have dialysis, and has decided to stop treatments and wait to pass away. all conditions are caused by chronic alcholism. thanks for any input, personal experiences.

From a medical provider standpoint, you typically live as long as you feel like living, regardless of the disease.

end renal failure results in death in approximately 7-14 days. This is what the doctors told us when my mother died last year of renal failure. Remember to love and cherish him for the time that is left and it will make your grief a little easier. I'm sorry.

im so sorry i heard that..i dont know much in medicine, but just live ur life widely, not wildly.. dont think of death & stupid things plz!
i just wish u feel better & fully recovering soooooon!
i try 2 pray for u, coz i dont usually.. but i will this time

he can live until he feels he can't anymore.

I really think it depends on the person, if they are a fighter it could be months and months but if they are ready to let go and just pass away then it might not be long at all. But no matter what happens...its because the time was right. If i've learned anything from having an extremely rare kidney disease its that life is only how you make it and sometimes you just have to look beyond the disease no matter how hard it may be.
