Is there any treatment (Not transplant)available for kidney failure? |
One of my brother in-law aged 38 male has been suffering with both kidney failure & now under medical supervision in AIIM Delhi, India. Doctor suggesting for transplanting but kidney is not available. Diolysis is temperory solution. Can any one help in this regard I don't know of a solution, other than a transplant and dialysis in the meantime. My husband has PKD and several of his family members also. His mother received a transplant last year from his father, who has a different blood type. The mayo clinic can do an ABO Incompatible Kidney Transplant if he can find a compatible donor with a different blood type. my daughter is taking blood pressure tablets to limit kidney damage she takes ramapril.she isn't as bad as your relative just now by the sound of it as she doesn't need dialysis i am afraid other than that the only other option sounds like a transplant.have you thought of a live donor ie his brother/sister/mum/dad etc that is what we wil do if it gets so far i intend to be tested to give her one of mine. I am afraid short of a transplant, dialysis is the only treatment. However, there is more than one form of dialysis. Besides the hemodialysis that I assume he has been doing, there is abdominal dialysis, which he can do at home at night, or even during the day if he wants. This involves placing a small catheter into his abdominal cavity into which he puts the solution, leaves it for a period of time, and then drains it back out, taking the poisons with him. You might ask his doctor about this. |
