"Thickening of kidney walls" is a symptom for anything from mild (and temporary) infection to obscure genetic diseases.

Check http://www.lifeoptions.org/kidneyinfo/ck... for other symptoms. Ah! Keep in mind - symptoms do not equal disease, especially common ones such as these. You might just have a mild case of flu! Diagnosis of kidney disease requires testing of blood and urine (at minimum.)
