Pregnant with Kidney Disease? |
Five years ago, I was diagnosed with Focal segmental glomular sclerosis, a form of kidney disease. Now I think I may be pregnant but am scared that if I am it will ruin my kidneys for good and put me on dialysis. I'm hesitating to do the test, because I'm thinking as soon as I know for sure, I'm going straight to the abortion table without even telling my husband. I don't want to be pregnant if it means losing my kidneys. Any encouraging medical advice would be helpful. Kidney disease can be caused by a variety of conditions; some of those conditions - like high blood pressure - can be made worse by a pregnancy. I do not think FSGS is made worse by pregnancy - but since I am guy I may not have picked up on this during my 22 years with FSGS. You should really find out asap. Now adays there is so much they can do that u can keep your kidneys and baby. I would tell my husband, if u are pregnant its his child too. The doctor can tell u best your situation and make a diagnosis on what your outcome may be. Good luck |
