My son has been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease his Kidney specialist thinks he has had it since he?

was a young teen, he's 21 now. I know about the cysts he has on his kidneys and I watched as his father died at 47 from lack of caring about his disease as he heavily drank and smoked. Justin does none of this. Is there anyone out there who has this too? I would like to hear from others.

While I do not personally suffer from this condition I have done a lot of research on this and other kidney related diseases.

More than likely your son may have inherited this disease from his father. Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a genetic disorder and it can be passed on to children, who may be afflicted with the disease from a young age. The danger with this disease is that the cysts can slowly replace much of the kidney tissue, reducing kidney function and ultimately lead to kidney failure.

Please follow the advice of your health care provider and ensure that your son eats a balanced diet and detoxify at least once a year.

God bless you and your family.

This is a heredity disease and there are forums where you can find out more about it. I know one man who had this disease and he is better now that he has had a kidney transplant.
