I have had Cancer & Kidney stones in the last 10 months.....please read.? |
I need help. I am living in Ohio...cannot find a Doctor who really takes me seriously. Have had cancer & Kidney stones since I have been here 10 months ~ tok me 8 months to findd a primary care physician. THEY refuse to admit me for a one or twoo night stray into a hospital and there are days I simply cannot move. This is no joke. The doctors are quesrionable w/ regard to their expertise. I have had two refuse to treat me, & that iswith referralks from ER Docs. Each day that goes by, my body takes a greater hit from the weakness cuased by NOT catching things in time. I have a clear read on the cancer now, and did on the Kidneys, however I am so swollen and in pain I believe that I have relapsed. I had to write the Governer.(No Reply Yet)! I am use to good Medical Attention and I am NOT recieving it HERE. Any comments please, as I am deadly serious. I am educated and have an IQ of 175, thus I have read & used kidney.org.~They have been great. Answers Please? And NO BS as I am in need. Spell Check bit the dust on this one..please pardon the typos. The last couple of details there seem to suggest you are losing your cool. Please, don't do that. Not good for you or your credibility. Don't let the doctors get your goat, but don't let them off the hook, either. You say you are used to good medical attention, and not receiving it here (Ohio, right?). Is it possible to get in contact with the doctors where you used to live? If they forward copies of your records to the ones where you live now, perhaps they will do more. Do they say why they don't? I'm especially shocked at the two that refused to treat you on referral from the ER. What was their excuse? Seems like they had an obligation to at least tell you why they could not treat you, and to refer you to someone who could. Keep your chin up, Girl, and keep in touch with your friends. Report It find a diff. doctor Try alternative medicine. There are some Asian remedies that might help more than traditional medicine. Your grammer and profile information speak volumes about your 175 IQ. First of all God BLess u and I'll pray for u. Second, sweetie I know ur in pain, but u have got to find a new doctor. Stop going to the one's around u and go somewhere else. What part of Oh do u live in?? B/c I drive for the Monroe MI cancer center, and sometime's we drive down to Toledo OH, that way u dont have to drive urself. i truly feel sorry for you. i would think that your best bet would be to move to a state that has better medical care. i myself am a cancer patient and i receive excellent medical care in Boston. i feel privileged to be able to receive the care that i do because we have the top Dr's in the world here. if you can afford to, move. get into either mass general hosp or Brigham and women's here in Boston. see if you can contact a Dr from either of those that would be willing to treat you if you came. forward your medical record along with your request. there are lots of Dr's here that would probably take on your case as a teaching case. we have so many medical schools here that just about every hospital has a teaching program linked to one of the colleges. they may even be able to give you treatment at a lower cost. good luck and good bless. have you tried going to another state for medical care i used to have to drive 300 miles each way to get decent medical care because i couldn't find any in the state i lived in i feel for you i know what it is like to be sick and getting nowhere with the doctors you have to keep looking until you find one that will take you seriously this is your life you are talking about do what you have to do to get what you need i did this for 4 years every 3 month and if i hadn't i wouldn't be alive right now You don't mention what type of cancer you have; or where you are "swollen". It is possible (depending on the type) that the cancer is causing the stones, but surely this would have registered with an ER doc. I would ask the ER doc to refer you back to an Oncologist who can re-investigate your cancer status, and then have the Oncologist get you referred to a Nephrologist to get to the bottom of your kidney problems; as I said, depending on your cancer, the stones might be related to that, and treating (or re-treating) the cancer should help with that. I sympathise with your predicament. You must be persistent in your quest for quality medical care. I remember going through three Cardiologists before finding one that could help me and one that I could be comfortable with. I don't think it was so much that they were incompetent (although that is possible). I think I just needed to find one with a personality I could mesh with. Conctact the american cancer society. They may be able to direct you to a doctor that will be helpful. It's unfortunate that you aren't able to find assistance in your area. You may need to leave and go to the mayos clinic. If you are serious about getting help there will be nothing stopping you. Best of luck!! You can always try some alternative treatments if the doctors aren't helpful Try going somewhere else to recieve treatment. Instead of wasting your time trying to get them to treat you, go to another state if you have to. If you waste your time with them, you're only going to get far worse than you already are. Kidney stones can be broken into smaller fragments by laser and then you can start to pass them. It hurts like hell, but hey at least you'll be getting rid of them. As for the cancer, you need to find one with a damn good cancer center where they can either give you radiation or chemotherapy. I know if a good one here where I live, but I wouldn't know if you'd be willing to come to Texas. Anyways, once you get better, then you can concentrate on suing those doctors' asses who wouldn't help you. Good Luck! |
