I lost a kidney in april due to kidney cancer my docters almost lost me because of a blodclot?

entering my heart, consequently all my blood was lost and replaced with all new blood,so far I'm cancer free,my next catscan is the 23rd of this month are there any signs or warning signs to alert me of my fate Thank you Yahoo Citizens

Radical Nephrectomies are carried out only because the cancer is thought to be localised and not spread (metastasised) to other organs or lymph nodes.
The chances of surviving a total blood transfusion are slim, so you have done very well indeed to have got this far. You will be having regular blood tests and these will alert the doctors to any sign of recourrence, using a test called Ca19-9 or Ca 2+. These are tumour markers and they are raised if cancer is at all present.
The chances of you being cancer free are very high. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
All my hopes.
Marcus X

You will be in my prayers that you remain cancer free.

Watch for a change in your urine. If it gets red (bloody), go for help immediately.
Watch for pain in the kidney area. See the doctor if it occurs.

I'm so sory you had to go through all this!

GOD BLESS YOU , I HOPE YOU ARE CANCER FREE FOREVER . I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE UP AGAINST ,..MY LATE MOM HAD THE SAME THING ..AND IT RUNS IN MY FAMILY ..THINK OF JESUS BEFORE YOU GO TO BED AND REMEMBER , YOU ARE IN MY HEART ,MIND , BODY & SOUL ..LOVE 'N' PRAYERS , DARREN LEE OPFER

Well I do not know of any warning signs to alert you, But I know God loves you and wants you well, so I am going to pray for you Poet and I believe you are cancer free and if you are interested. I do know that cancers are fed by sugars, and acidity foods, so I suggest to come off sugars and go to alkaloid foods. If you want to know more email me at ptlesther06@shaw.ca

Greetings: Unsure where you are, but I suffered from kidney cancer about six years ago, and lost the top third of my left kidney which carried the tumour. I will have a scan every two years for the rest of my life. The tumour was discovered by accident during a prostate scan - nothing wrong with the prostate, but did I know I had a lump on my left kidney? No, and no symptoms at all - gulp! My Christmas week scan has just been cleared.

If you can get there I thoroughly pat on the back urologist consultant Mark Stott at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital in Exeter (known as Wonford). He is an ace. When he did my operation loads of people turned up to watch as he is so good at what he does. And they came to my bed afterwards to say so! Plus he visited me every day - including weekends - and usually walked off with my Daily Telegraph! A lovely chap with a great sense of humour.

When he was descriibing what he was going to do, he said he would do a drawing for my late wife and I. As we sat around a table, just before he started he asked if we ate steak and kidney pie! We didn't, so he proceeded! A wonderful surgeon with humour.

Best to you, Robert in Dawlish, Devon, England
