Does a spot or bump in one kidney automatically mean cancer?

Does a spot or bump in one kidney automatically mean cancer?

no, but how do you know you have a bump or spot on your kidney, did the doctor told you that, if he did he should of told you you had or didn't have cancer. good luck
chin

Yep, automatically.

Yes, you're going to die. Hail Satan!

Probably not. You'd need to have it biopsied, though, in order to make sure.

The only way you can see that is by MRI, though. Then a radiologist has to look at it. Then if the radiologist says it looks suspicious, a doctor might want to take a biopsy of it.

no it could be benine also

HasngAbsolutely not, so you don't need to worry right now. I am assuming you had an MRI which can actually show things that are not there. MRI's can actually make somethings look worse.
I understand exactly what you are going through because that happened to me this year and I was scared. My doctor told me that Kidney Cancer is easy to detect and is fast growing. A good doctor has a good idea what's going on so don't worry yourself.
What usually happens now is the doctor does a CBC and a liver function, etc and will have you undergo another MRI or CAT Scan just to make certain everything is OK. Try to relax because kidney cancer is very rare , most likely this "spot" is a cyst if anything at all. Good Luck and take care.

of course not. most abnormal areas on the kidney are going to be something benign, such as a cyst. You will need to get an ultrasound or an mri to confirm this area on your kidney.

To get a cancer diagnosis, u need several tests, the most reliable will be biopsy and pathology, u also have blood test, MRI, CT, etc. so a bump or spot cant just tell you it is cancer. In some countries where this diagnostic procedures are very expensive, they resort to diagnosing by symptoms and they are very good at that, but cancer is still a disease that doctors dont just say relying on their experience and expertise, the diagnosis should be supported by findings in tests.

93% of spots shown during X-rays on the kidney are kidney stones.

ugh can't believe some of the answers on here. Ok first off, what symptoms are you having and how did you find out about the spot? Maybe an xray? They need to do more, ultrasound, MRI, urine tests, blood work. And no it doesn't automatically mean it's cancer, it could be a cyst, benign tumor, pocket of infection, stone, and I'm sure there are other things too.

could be kidney stone

No
