My ultrasound showed a mass over my kidney. Other than cancer what could it be?

I had these on my kidney last year, 7 cysts and one big abscess. Definately see your doctor <which I'm sure you are>

If you had an ultrasound done, you must have been with a licensed doctor or x-ray tech. Why did you leave the office without asking the doctor that question? Who knows what it could be. Maybe a tumor, cyst, abcess...... the list can go on. Try not to sit around and worry yourself over it, I think if the doctor's find anything that shouldn't be there they will be getting in contact with you. My advice call the doctor that saw you, express your concerns and present the question to them. At best we can guess but nobody on Yahoo! has any way of knowing what your ultrasound showed in the doctor's office. So call them up or simply wait it out and try not to worry too much. Ask your doctor about the adrenal gland. It can get enlarged and I believe it is on top of the kidney.
