Lisinopril--any correlation with kidney stones-salivary gland stones, or kidney failure/cancer?

I have been told Lisonpril makes the heart more efficient but I also take toprol and have low BP-- 97 over 60 . It also seems lisinopril causes some irregular heart beats--but because research shows patients taking toprol and lisinopril has a less chance of second heart attack, cardiologist recommends both. But I function so well on toprol alone I took myself off lisinopril because of some of the other side effects I mentioned. Appreciate any informed thoughts on pros and cons.

I know the standard thing is talk to Doctor but I am interested in other views--Doctors have to be so conservative and conventional in patient relationship so I am asking for uninhibited discussion of cons on this drug.

I would talk to your doctor before stopping medication your taking.
Every drug has a side effect, and every person has different side effects than other people do. Get an appointment and your doctor may change your Linisopril to another drug that you tolerate better.

If you are taking toprol and have low BP 97/60; I would not take Linisopril since it is mainly used for lowering BP. Yes, Linisopril can lessen the effect of a heart attack afterwards but Lisinopril can impair the function of the kidneys.

It is not like your BP need to go lower. ; ) Report It
