Keloids...? |
anybody ever get one, either from a piercing or just got one. what did you do to get rid of it? I got a keloid when I got my 3rd cartilage piercing, so I took the ring out, and it went away. Keloid scars won't always go away like that, a lot of times, if you have them, you'll have them forever. Use the silicone "scar solution" bandaid type dressings. Instructions are on the box. If it sticks out, you can start to flatten it by putting a piece of tape on it. Keep it on as much as possible. I get keloids...I have asked my doctor if any of thoses scar kits work and he said No. I have several keloids and sometimes I get shooting pain in my scars...over the past years they have gotten flatter and flatter but it has taken years. I have keloid scars from chicken pox when I was a kid - the good news is they are getting flatter and flatter and less red as the years go on - the bad news is there is NOTHING you can do to speed up the process. I asked my doctor at one point if it was possible to cut out a particularly large one on my inner thigh and he told me that there was no point - if you have the prepensity for keloid scars then the scar from the removal was more than likely to also be a keloid scar. |
