Injections for keloids.. how do they work? |
im thinking bout having my keloids (on my nose) from acne injected.. what kind of medicine do they use.. i'm not very familiar with this procedure.. what are the side effects? i really need some help on this one.. my face is already flawed due to these stupid keloids.. i don't want anything to go wrong when i have them injected.. can anyone share their knowledge on this? thanks so much.. Keloids are nothing to worry about. It is just a skin condition that pertains to certain people with scars. My doctor told me, some peoples' scars tend to raise up more than others thus resulting in a keloid. I had a keloid on my arm injected... and I believe the doctor used a common Cortizone shot. It was really simply! He just injected the Cortizone at four points around the scar. It some how helps to reduce the size of the scar. In my case, I think it worked pretty well. The scar noticeably decreased in size. However the doctor also said that if you want the scar to shrink even smaller you would have to come back for more Cortizone shots. Bottom line, its a simple treatment, no pain, no noticeable side effects, and it works. Hope this helps. |
