Is there a way to remove keloids from your body?

I'm a black male and have a few on my chest from acne scars as a kid. I kinda want to display my chest but am embarrassed to with these keloids on it.

Rarely are keloids zapped with a laser, or removed with a scalpel. Work with a Dermatologist, do not take no for an answer. They have the option, of directly injecting each keloid, with cortisone. No matter how many you have, on your body, they can be injected, in this manner, at your doctors discretion.

I had this type of therapy, along with medications, 18 years ago, and currently have no keloids. I have not had them for 16 years. The places where they were, are not scarred, at all. The initial therapy is intense, but once you are past it, you will see the results are worth it. For me, it took 8 months, of initial bi weekly, injections, then monthly injections, then eventually no injections, to heal this problem. The scars disappeared, as promised by my doctor, within a year.

I hope this helps!

Old Soldier :-)

The problem is, they would surgically remove them, which could leave a larger keloid.
There are some scar creams at the drugstore, you could try one and see if it helps.
I like Amlactin-- its expensive (get it at Costco) but it helps for most things like this.

YEAH WITH PEELING

The only way i know for old kelloid apart from surgery is cortisone injections in the area

Keloids may be reduced in size by freezing, external pressure, corticosteroid injections, laser treatments, radiation, or surgical removal
Removal or reduction may not be permanent, and surgical removal may result in a larger keloid scar.

If you feel that insecure you should call your family doctor and talk about treatment options.

See a dermatologist about your problem, they deal with it all the time and will go over your options. I believe one tool they use is laser surgery.

There is one laser that you can look for..Pulsed Dye Laser. It will help in flattening the keloids.
