Best medicine for keloids?

One of the more common treatments for keloids is to inject corticosteroids directly into the scar itself. This is not a one time treatment, it has to be repeated several times usually over 4 week intervals. This will help in making the keloid soft and smaller and may relieve any associated pain or itching, however the keloid will never go away completely with this method.
Now the keloid can be surgically removed, the things is you are inducing trauma to the tissue and can almost gurantee the keloid will retun, so this has to be cmbined with another treatment. The site can be injected with steroids after the procedure, some success has been reported with using a cream called imiquimod after the surgery or localized radiation to the area.

Keloids are scar tissue, right? And there is not much you can do for them once they are there. Everyone heals or scars differently, some more than others. Your doctor can best advise - sometimes they can be surgically revised.
