How can the Kawasaki disease be infectious to most of the children? |
How can the Kawasaki disease be infectious to most of the children? When our daughter had Kawasaki disease last year the doctor told us that they did not believe it to be infectious... we asked as we also have a 2 year old son, so we believe its not infectious it is classed as a rare disease and will so , till they find out what causes it, and why some kids are affected so badly with it,and others like our daughter got off reasonable unscathed I read that no one knows how it is passed on, so there really isn't an answer to your question. However, it's considered uncommon, in the US approximately 3000 children with Kawasaki disease are hospitalized annually. It's more common in urban areas than in rural, and many drs believe it's a microbe rather than a virus. |
